1.1 HOME FOR WOMEN WITH CHILDREN

It is a sustainable project that hosts family mothers with their children to keep them away from the violence they suffered, usually coming from their couples.

The objective is to contribute and improve to the life conditions of the women and their children, victims of violence and in a situation of extreme poverty giving them a multidisciplinary service that is warm, efficient and innovative.

In this project we realize the promotion of job options and economic income.

Activities of the volunteers:

  • Collaborate to achieve quality and caring childcare, while their mothers work or study (Reinforcing Workshops, Literacy, Languages, Drama, Painting, Handicrafts, Spirituality, Sports, among others)
  • Support actions directed to decrease the levels of violence of the hosted mothers and children. (Strengthen the AFFECTION AND GENTLENESS) between mother and child.
  • Support in the workshops of products: Bakery, Pastries, Cooking, Handicrafts, Knitting, and Making of clothes, among others.
  • Support to improve the stores of products and collaborate in the sales.
  • Support in giving capacitation in the Cost-Benefit analysis of the products supplied to the market.
  • Prepare women for economic entrepreneurship and facilitate the means for this objective.
  • Support actively in the sales of the products.
  • Others from the initiative of the volunteers.

1.2 EMPOWERING WOMEN ARTISTS AND ARTISANS

We collaborate with the project Totemiq that aims to empowering women artists and artisans in the city of Cusco. They search for equal labor conditions. At the same time the volunteers will learn the traditional techniques of pre-Columbus and colonial Cusquenian artistic production. The project has as an additional objective to preserve the value of these techniques that are being lost in time.

Activities of the volunteers:

  • Support in the production of ceramics, sculpture, and traditional techniques (colonial gild, glassed ceramics)
  • Package and ship the pieces.
  • Assistance in the workshop (support in production, photography and cleaning, shopping and contact with providers)
  • Support in the communication strategies and promotion on line.
  • Translation (project Art Trail Cusco)
