Aurora Andina
Volunteer & Spanish School
Aurora Andina was founded in 2005. We have a 19-year-experience working to achieve our main objective of transforming our environment through human collective action.
After all these years of sustained work, we have achieved connecting a net of over 50 public and private institutions and NGOs in the city of Cusco with which we collaborate and share our social compromise, within the areas of education, art, health care service, rural communities, the infant, rehabilitation from domestic violence, the environment of a sustainable tourism, ecology, children in risky situation, orphanages, among others.
We manage lively accommodations in family homes, shared apartments, and a student residence.

Experiences
We are proud of having achieved a contribution of 270,000 US for the local community in volunteer work during the last 12 years. Having located more than 2.300 volunteers in local projects to date.

TIMELINE
2005
01. FOUNDED
It was founded doing environmental volunteer service on cleaning rivers and we created a football school for children in the area of the Sacred Valley in Cusco.

02. VOLUNTEERING & SPANISH SCHOOL
We opened AA in the city of Cusco oriented to local volunteer work and learning Spanish. We started to work with a net of over 50 public and private institutions, and NGOs.

03. ABROAD ALLIANCES
We started to host students and volunteers from organizations in Europe and the USA.

04. CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGNS
We realized our project of Christmas Campaign, raising toys, food, clothing, and giving them to the rural communities, orphanages, and hospitals every end of the year since 2011 to the present.

05. AA REFUGEE
We realized our project of Aurora Andina Shelter hosting 20 children to offer them school reinforcing, psychological assistance, food, and workshops for parents and children.

06. NOWADAYS
Present days: We offer cultural programs (Peruvian cuisine classes, collective art creation, touristic trips with a purpose), Spanish classes, volunteer service, and lodging in family homes, shared apartments, and student residence in the city of Cusco.

Our mission
Aurora Andina has as mission to support the social and cultural development of the community through a sustained volunteer service, joining efforts with different public and private institutions, and NGOs in the city of Cusco, in order to achieve true social transformation.

Our philosophy
We confide on the daily use of the Andean principles of:
- Munay – A profound and impersonal love that is born naturally in the heart.
- Yachay – Knowledge and wisdom. The ability to think.
- Llank’ay – Work, service and action.
- Ayni – Reciprocity. Today for me, tomorrow for you. If you get, you have to give. If you give, you have to get. This is the major principle in the Andes.
